Hobutsuguraden, shinto shrine Treasury. From 1905 to 1945, southern Sakhalin belonged to Japan and was the Prefecture of Karafuto. In the capital of the Prefecture, Toyohara (now Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia), the main temple of Karafuto - Karafuto-Jinja was located. All the buildings of the temple were made of wood, except for the Treasury made of fire-resistant concrete, where the sacred relics and gifts of the Emperor were stored. Now this Treasury is the only survived structure of the temple.
