石見型破片1 Iwami-type haniwa
The Iwami-type(石見型) haniwa, named after similar examples excavated from the Iwami site in Nara Prefecture, are stylised representations of ceremonial staff heads used to demonstrate the authority of powerful clans. They served to express the authority of the interred individual.
