This is a 3D model of a cast in the Statens Museum for Kunst of an ancient marble sculpture in the J. Paul Getty Museum. It depicts Hercules with a club and the skin of the Nemean Lion. Inspired by works from the 4th c. BCE, this sculpture depicts Hercules with his two best known calling cards, the club and the skin of a lion. The lion skin is a nod to Hercules’ first labor, the slaying of the Nemean Lion. The original sculpture was commissioned in 125 CE, stands over 6 ft tall, and weighs 850 lbs.
