10th Century Buddha w/2 LOD - Nepal Heritage3D Model
Sculpture of standing Buddha, made up of a single huge granite stone. This piece of history is located at swayambhunath temple in Kathmandu.
Built in 10th century, it is one of the oldest sculpture at swayambhu. It is located at the front side of the hill, on the old route to the stupa. Word “swayambhu” in saskrit means self-manifestation meaning it was not made by human hands, but instead is naturally arisen, or generated by nature. So, people here believe the whole hill rose itself including most of the sculptures inside.
There are today other new routes including the west routes and new staircases to the stupa at the hill but the old route seems to hold important sculptures on the way, some even dating back to 7th/10th century.
