1600 year-old puparium of a blowfly

In the course of the current re-examination of the skull reliquary attributed to the Early Christian bishop Saint Paulinus of Trier (Museum am Dom Trier), a single puparium was recovered in the area of the nasal cavity.

This model of the blowfly puparium Chrysomya albiceps was scanned with #DISC3D by Jens Amendt (Universitätsklinikum Frankfurt), Michael Heethoff (DiNArDa e.V.), Thomas van de Kamp (KIT), Nicole Reifarth (TH Köln), and Sebastian Schmelzle (Small World Vision GmbH i.G.).
