More model informationA digital rendition of the 1858 basford water pumping engine currently preserved at the Nottingham Industrial Museum. This machine was designed by Thomas Hawksley, a renowned engineer of the 1800’s who was known for clean water iniatives throughout the british empire. The engine was used from 1858 till 1963 to pump fresh water to the city of Nottingham in the UK and its application can be directly correlated to the city’s relative resistance to the cholera outbreaks that swept the nation in the late 19th century and as well as this, the constant feed of fresh water can be attributed to Nottingham’s large population growth during the industrial revolution.
This piece was modelled and animated using Autodesk Maya and textured using Quixel.
