This model shows the front elevation of a house which previously stood down Eastgate in Beverley (East Yorkshire, UK). The Neo-Palladian mansion was designed by Colen Campbell, the founder of the Georgian style, for Charles Hotham (4th Baronet) & was documented in Campbell’s renowned publication ‘Vitruvius Britannicus’ (1715).

The house was intended to be a family home for the Hotham family and was built between 1716 and 1721. Unfortunately, the house was never lived in and remained empty upon the death of Charles Hotham in 1723. It was later demolished 50 years after Charles’ death to make way for Beverley’s residential developments.

This model was created in Blender using Campbell’s front elevation drawing from ‘Vitruvius Britannicus’. The design of the sides and rear of the house are currently unknown therefore they are intentionally left blank in the model along with the doorways to the wings.
