In 1970, Datsun introduced a new sports car to the market named the Z. It featured a fastback styled body based off of European styling and a focus on performance and price. Standard options like full instruments, carpet, radio, air conditioning, and reclining bucket seats at an affordable price made the Z an instant success in the U.S. market.
