When Paul McCartney chose 1953 Bristol KSW ECW 5G Open Top Seaside Special Double Decker Bus Reg. No. WNO 481 to be his 1972 Wings Tour Bus he created The Legend Of Rock & Road.
We are restoring the bus back to its glorious McCartney best both in layout and livery for the 50th anniversary celebrations in 2022 of that legendary and pivotal 1972 Wings Over Europe Tour, Paul’s first major solo tour after the glory days of The Beatles. For the duration of the tour it was hotly pursued by the world’s press and became arguably the most famous bus in the world.
One of the unique features of the bus was the open top deck adorned with mattresses, pillows, bean bags and cushions for Paul, Linda, band members Denny Laine, Henry McCullough and Denny Seiwell and children Heather and Mary to chill out, relax and enjoy. The play pen was occupied by 10 month old baby Stella McCartney.
The bus is booked to star at The Classic Motor Show at The NEC in 2022 and will then go on loan to the beautiful Transport Museum, Wythall.
