Hong Kong is a fast growing modern metropolis where many old and historic objects and landmarks would either be lost, forgotten, demolished or went into the history books were younger generations have never been able to get a chance to witness and experience it! The city’s local transportations are no exceptions, particularly the railways (now own an operated by MTR) where their traces of histories are gradually lost in time and only a few relics can be found in Tai Po Railway Museum. So to recreate the lost history of Hong Kong’s railway and technology, I am happy to share this steam locomotive model that once operated in the Kowloon-Canton Railway (British Section), the former War Department Austerity 2-8-0.
