Since its initial release back in 1967, the Falcon GT was hailed as Ford Australia’s “macho” car. This vehicle won Australia’s biggest endurance race, the Bathurst 1000, a whopping eight times, making it a national hero. Inheriting this glorious legacy is this new GT, created by FPV (Ford Performance Vehicle) based on the Falcon. The engine is a 5.4L 4-cam 32-valve V8. It was given the nickname “Boss 290” because the engine generates 290 kW (the equivalent of 389 BHP). That plus a maximum torque rating of 53.0 kgfm made this car Australia’s most powerful until the release of the F6 Typhoon, also from FPV.
