GM’s introduction of the Camaro Concept in 2006 and its update in 2008 were a key precursor to the Camaro’s viability as the Bumblebee. The smooth curves are clearly inspired by the Camaro of the late 1960s. And yet, the “retro” look is only skin deep, as the Camaro Concept features a fully independent suspension, a six-speed manual transmission and a 400-plus horsepower 6.0-liter V-8 with cylinder deactivation or as GM would describe it – “active fuel management.”
