More model information3D model factory sign VAZ 2101 TOGLIATTI. When the first copies of the mark were issued, a misunderstanding occurred. Having developed the design, the Soviet designers sent the documentation to Turin to make a trial batch there. The Italians took the letter “I” in the word “Tolyatti” for the Latin “R” - and released the logo in this version. The error was quickly noticed and fixed. Those 30 logos that were actually marriage today have become a real rarity, and you can find them only in private collections and in the exposition of the VAZ museum.
Rook quickly gained recognition, was approved as a trademark of VAZ and appeared on the very first batches of VAZ-2101, produced in 1970.
