2nd Viking age boat grave in Hillesøy, Norway

The grave was discoverd after last years excavation of a male viking grave at Hillesøy. Excavation took place in July of 2018. In this grave we found skeletal remains of a female, aged about 40-50, with jewlery and some other artefacts. The grave is dated to late 8th- early 9th-century AD. The boat was placed about two meters south of the male grave excavated in 2017.
