Bubblegum coarl, Paragorgia arborea, has a fluffy appearance when the feeding polyps are extended. Researchers form MBARI and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary traveled to Sur Ridge to study the corals and sponges that grow on this fascinating underwater mountain.
