More model information

One of two leather hats form part of the Stirling Castle collection. The Stirling Castle is a protected shipwreck site on the Goodwin Sands, Kent. The ship sank during the Great Storm of 1703. The collection is owned by The Isle of Thanet Archaeological Society. The collection is housed at Ramsgate Maritime Museum, Hastings Shipwreck Museum and Greenwich Maritime Museum. One hat (accession number 366) is currently housed in Ramsgate, the other (accession number L1_1110) is currently housed in Hastings. Both hats, together with some leather shoe remains form part of the HE project 7241: “Investigation of two leather hats and shoe remains from Stirling Castle, protected shipwreck site”.
