3D Model

My approach is, that the icon should immediately transport the idea of a 3D viewer. Therefore i use a toy, that a lot of us have used in their youth to make the first 3D experience. The View Master was a stereoskopic viewer for color slides. Basicly it is the root of 3D TV and VR. An emoji needs to be unique and instantly recognizable. The shape of the View Master is both and reminds of a friendly face. The trigger resembles a mail flag to catch attention. The buttons are the basic commands for the actions of the social bot. The environment is a reflection of Sketchfab profiles, as this is his world. It will be used in a very small size, i needed some stronger outlines. The solution was backface culling. First time i use that on a model. It’s not perfect and with the mesh from Gravity Sketch it was quite difficult, but i am happy with the result. Build with Gravity Sketch VR. UV mapping and backface culling done with 3DS Max.
