The Baily Lighthouse is a lighthouse on the southeastern part of Howth Head in Dublin, Ireland.
I almost lost my drone making this model Flying conditions were tricky, and the drone had to fight against winds that were gusting to at least 25 mph. As the drone got to the tip of land beyond the lighthouse, the link to my controller was suddenly broken. This was a first after over 600 flights. I thought that the drone was lost, but the “go home” function did its job and the drone landed in the tall grass nearby after an anxious two minutes.
My controller’s electronics continued to gradually degrade after this trip. About two weeks later the controller stopped linking to the drone and had to be replaced. Bottom line: make sure that the HOME location is correctly set before each flight.
