This is the outer wall of the 13th Century Sri Laxmi Narasimha Temple at Nuggehalli - Karnataka - India. This was built in the 13th century by the Hoysala dynasty. It is an excellent example of the Hoysala architecture with detailed and ornate carvings of various gods of the Hindu culture and filled with narratives from all the epics.
The temple is dedicated to Lord Narasimha who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Like other Hoysala temples, this Temple is also built on an elevated platform called the jagati. The temple is constructed as a trikutachala i.e. it has three sanctums. The three shrines are located around a central closed mantapa with 9 bays. The temple has three deities in it namely Keshava, Lakshminarasimha and Gopala.
At Setu, we are scanning Ancient monuments of India and make it available to the 3D community to develop content based on the same.
