Second premolar:
o Very similar to first premolars, with very similar sizes
o Less common and less prominent developmental grooves, leading to a less prominent buccal ridge and line angles and overall more rounded anatomy.
o The lingual cusp is proportionally larger and almost the same size as the buccal cusp
o There is no mesial marginal groove or mesial concavity
o 90% of these teeth present only one root
o The lingual cusp apex is also located to the mesial
o The buccal cusp ridge is more rounded than observed in the first premolar
o Shorter central groove with mesial and distal pits close together (sometimes they are so close that results in only one central pit). It also can present more supplemental grooves on the occlusal surface (wrinkled appearance).
