解説 / Description:
江戸では四季の風景を楽しむ行楽が流行した。その際は弁当を持って行くことも多く、美しい細工の容器が作られた。資料は漆器に彩色した薄貝を貼り付けて、梅樹や牡丹等の文様を表す花見弁当の提重。これらは国内だけでなく、長崎から海外へ輸出された。

In Edo, excursions to enjoy the scenery of the four seasons became popular. The material shown here is a tiered lunch-box set for cherry-blossom viewing, made of lacquerware to which colored thin shells were affixed to depict plum trees and other patterns. These were exported not only domestically but also to other countries.
