A medium quality model (here decimated to 1000k) of a 19th Century commemorative monument. “During the 1848-1849 revolution, in Transylvania imperial Habsburg troops under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel Ludwig von Losenau clashed with the revolutionary Hungarian army commanded by the Polish General Józef Bem. As both armies suffered heavy losses, neither could claim victory. Nevertheless, the “heroic Vice-Colonel” von Losenau was badly injured by a rifle bullet on the morning of 9 February 1849 and died a couple of days later. In memory of the Austrian military commander, in 1853 a neo-gothic monument was erected in the Fortress or Army Park.” Full story, by Sorin Arhire, PhD, at: http://imagini-istorie.apulum.ro/single.php?lang=en&storyid=50 (copyright Proiectul Alba Iulia - o istorie in imagini / Primaria Municipiului Alba Iulia 2016). The model was created from a total of 131 photos obtained using a 28 mm lens, from ground level and from aprox. 5 meter height. It obviously needs something higher :)…
