鉛字排版

檢字完成後，師傅依據原稿版面尺寸，加入所需之標點符號、圖版、木片、鉛條等進行排版與間格，完成後即為組版，並將四周使用棉線固定，避免於機器上版時因移動導致鬆脫。

Typesetting

After the sorts (types) have been selected, the printer adds the required punctuation marks, platens, wood slats, lead bars, etc. according to the size of the original layout, and proceeds with typesetting and spacing. After the platens have been assembled, the printer then fixes the surrounding cotton threads in place to prevent them from coming loose when the printing press is in operation.
