The Anson was a Royal Navy frigate that wrecked against Loe Bar in Cornwall in 1807 with great loss of life. The wreck was extensively salvaged in the 1960s but much remains at the site, usually buried under sand and shingle. This single 24-pounder gun was just visible when we visited the site in May 2018. Conditions were not good for photogrammetry - visibility was poor, the water around the gun contained suspended sediment and there was a surge, so the image does not have the clarity of my models from the wreck of the Schiedam. Nevertheless, it is a valuable record as the wreck is rarely visible and there are usually only a few days of the year in which it is possible to dive safely off Loe Bar. The object to the right of the gun is an iron ballast bar, one of many on the site.
