Mancini Antonio (1852-1930) Autoritratto giovanile - Scugnizzo 1868 Info
I am quite aware that the backside is very weak to say the least, yet I feel I am getting closer to what I want to achieve with 3d paintings. The initial steps are getting easier and I know I need to depart from the projection once the rough shape is in place : my initial goal of having one point of view from which the 3d matches precisely the painting is a chimera because projecting the painting into the 3d space never translates into a shape that really works. That is, the more accurate the 3d from the viewpoint of the painter, the more distorted the shape in 3d space. Of course a bust is less challenging than say, a scene with a figure sitting on a chair. A chair is precisely when the problem is most accute. Yet, complex scenes is precisely what I want to tackle.
If you have an interest in paintings adapted to 3d, please help me allocate more time to work on this project by purchasing this early attempt.
