TRURI : 1989.62.12 - A pair of black heeled pumps in glace kid. Trimmed with a bow embroidered with jet beads and lined with red silk. These shoes appear simple and modest, but the details betray a shoe designed with a wealthy merchant’s daughter in mind. These form part of the trousseau (a wedding gift to the bride, normally consisting of clothing, jewellery, linens and household items) of Edith Williams. Edith was married to Reverend Sidney Cooper, 9th January 1890.
