A slightly different magic fire potion.

The idea behind this project was to experiment with what appears to be a particle effect and see how it would look in the Sketchfab renderer. Unfortunately, the renderer does not (yet) support UV/texture animation. So technically this is just rotation and exaggerated refraction, plus high emmision, roughness and optional bloom.

I think this renderer does an impressive job, especially considering it’s an online real-time renderer.

To make it work as equally in a game engine, you need a renderer that can modulate fresnel by refraction. Unreal and Unity should be able to do this. It may be necessary to convert the IOR value to the engine’s internal range of values. I used for refraction IOR=1.196 and roughness=0.652.
