Six archeological sites that feature Virginia Indian settlements have been discovered in Salem, Virginia. The most substantial location is the Graham White Site, which is now part of the Moyer Sports Complex. Contents of the archeological survey of this site include pottery, arrowheads, gaming pieces, stone tools, and a 17th century gun trigger. While most of these archeological finds signify the site was a typical Indian village, the gun trigger indicates that the village had had contact with white explorers and settlers.
