My entry for the Calligraphy School Challenge.
I honestly had no plan with what I wanted the model to look like. I mostly just experimented with the editor’s settings.
I started with making the model shadeless, and then I started messing with the post-processing filters. I didn’t touch the materials tab, because the colors that I end up with were changed with the color balance setting and I liked how they came out. I used the SSAO and sharpness settings together to make a slight hatching quality for the shadowed areas of the model. I also used the animated grain because I thought it lent itself well to the overall look. And of course a slight bloom on the lanterns to make them pop a little.
