A440 Timepiece 3D Model
This watch is worn by a time traveler from a distant future in which the Earth’s orbit around the Sun has sped up slightly and the Earth’s rotation around it’s own axis has slowed down slightly (which will eventually happen.) Their minutes are only a fraction of a second longer, but their year is 360 days. What this means is 1 day is equal a 1 degree turn around the sun. A month is exactly 30 days, and contains 5 weeks, each of which are 6 days. It’s 24 hours per rotation on the watch, not 12 so it also measures the rotation of the earth on it’s own axis as well.
The current time and date on the watch are May 9th, 03:39:16 AM.
It’s Called the A440 because of the similar way in which the frequency of pitches in music have shifted over time. The permutation of 440 Hz ‘A’ we hear today is usually regarded as unremarkable or even imperceptible to most people but is still quantifiably different from the 466 Hz they heard in the Baroque period.
Music: Manhattan Jazz Quintet-Air on the G string
