More model informationIn cooperation with Smolensk expedition of Institute of archeology we conducted a 3D survey of an archaeological excavation. The site is located within the territory of the Svyato-Nikolsky Cathedral, Vyazma.
The excavation reveals the courtyard of the XVII century adjacent to the inside wall of the fortress (Gorodnya). The palisade fence of the courtyard was buried by nearly 1 m. In the palisade was a passage through which log paving could go into the yard.
The North-Eastern part of the excavation - cemetery dated XIV century. Graves have wooden funeral boards. The orientation of the graves indicates that there was an ancient temple. The pottery found is typical for XII-XIV centuries.
