Abacus book

Model of an abacus adapted to French coinage of the period, folding to resemble a book, held by UCL Special Collections (GRAVES 121.k.4). The monetary system indicated in the abacus suggests it dates from the 1700s.

Unfortunately the 3D rendering is poor. The book is fragile and was imaged open, lying on a table. I took 44 photos with a hand-held Nikon with its on-camera flash. The surround is good, but the beads have not rendered smoothly and the wires holding them are particularly bad. I guess I need to try more photos, but definitely try a more even illumination. Any more suggestions - please shout!
