Abandoned Fairground Chairlift | Scarborough3D ModelNoAI
The drive unit from one end of the former North Bay chairlift attraction at Scarborough. From 1972 an aerial chairlift (resembling a ski lift or miniature cable car system) transported tourists up and down the hills overlooking North Bay, from the beach to Marvel’s Leisure and Amusement Park. The site finally closed in 2002 and with it the chairlift. Little remains today other than concrete building platforms and the grand chairlift struts. This unit is about 4m tall and partially covered by a collapsed shed. It’s badly graffitied but has otherwise survived well considering almost 20 years of neglect.
I actually rode on this while on a family holiday in 1998, so this was an oddly nostalgic thing to model. There isn’t much online about Marvel’s, but a good video resource can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbOzgIvRZic
