Penzance’s listed historic slipway and wharf. Officially called, as part of a group, “Abbey Basin Quays and Slipway, Penzance, Cornwall”, the slipway seen here was painted in oils by the Newlyn School artist Stanhope Forbes in 1921.
Unbelievably cars now use the slipway, scaring pedestrians (it’s popular with tourists), risking overtopping seas at high tide, and damaging the structure, despite a sign saying “Unsuitable for Motors” at the top. It has become a rat-run, despite other routes existing. I’m hoping that this will change in the future.
There are a few issues with this model, done avoiding cars and pedestrians. A few higher angle photos would make the textures and level roadway geometry much better.
