More model informationThis stone has been set at the base of the round tower in Abernethy, near Perth. It has been set upon a stone plinth, with a capstone and is obviously a fragment of a larger sone as the symbols are truncated to the top and bottom. The stone was ncorporated into a house in the 19th century and trimmed as building stone but luckily these designs remained.
The central symbol is a Pictish ‘tuning fork’ and to the left and right of this are a hammer and an axehead respectively. Below is and incomplete V-rod with crescent. The symbols are well-incised and still clear. They are around seventh century in date.
