More model informationKilmartin Glen is known for its wealth of Prehistoric monuments, ranging from burial cairns, stone circles, standing stones, and rock art sites. One such site is the Achnabreck cup and ring marks, one of the most important prehistoric sites in Mid Argyll because of its size and complexity.
The Achnabreck rock art consists of two groups of well preserved decorated rock outcrops, the one here located to the lower west.
These abstract motifs and designs were pecked into earthfast bedrock, and their meaning is largely unknown. The site contains double and triple spiral motifs, and uncupped rings, thought to be connected to Irish Passage-grave Art.
