Acquamanile, datato al IX secolo d.C., proveniente dalla Grotta di San Michele, santuario micaelico longobardo ad Olevano sul Tusciano (SA). Si tratta di un manufatto con corpo globulare con piedini di sistegno, dipinto a bande rosse con “sgraffiture” a punta, impressioni a stampo e applicazioni plastiche. Il collo e il cannello sono plasticamente definiti come un pistrice (o un Leviatan serpentiforme con orecchie di lupo) che vomita Giona, tipo biblico della resurrezione di Cristo. Il manufatto veniva probabilmente utilizzato nelle funzioni battesimali che si svolgevano all’interno del santuario micaelico. Ad oggi rappresenta un “unicum” nel panorama delle produzioni altomedievali della Langobardia minor. (Francesco La Manna, La ceramica, in “La Grotta di San Michele ad Olevano sul Tusciano.
