At a clearing in the alluvial forest of Tulln there is a cover version of the world-famous sculpture Affe mit Schädel (“Ape with skull” or “Monkey viewing or contemplating a skull”). The work of art by Klaus Weber is based on the small sculpture by the Berlin artist Hugo Rheinhold from 1893. The philosophising monkey refers to Charles Darwin’s theory that man descended from the apes.
