More model informationI am the goddess Africa, the personification of Africa by the Romans. My bust was used as a tripod finial. In my back there is a hook for the use of a round table top. I’m wearing a chiton and growing out of a leaf goblet. The rectangular pedestal was mounted on the poles of the tripod. My eyes are set in silver, the parted hair leads in strands to the rear. The skin of an elephant sits like a cap on my head. The trunk is erect, next to it are the small tusks. Solid bronze cast; H 10,7 cm; w 4,3 cm; 1st - 2nd century AD.
