As Meta promotes its latest generative 3D solution with quasi-cultural 3D assets dreamed up by AI, I couldn’t stop thinking about why this is a slippery slope for audiences and creators—and why the cultural heritage sector is perfectly placed to demonstrate the benefits of authentic 3D data in the age of so-called metaverse platforms.
