Albemarle

Not much is written about the 172 ft three-masted schooner Albermarle other than it stranded in shallow water off Point Nipigon near Cheboygan, Michigan in 1867 the same year it was built. It was carrying iron ore and stranded in a storm and was later abandoned. Today this 16 ft deep site is a buoyed by the Straits Preserve for divers, snorkelers, and kayakers. The centerboard trunk is still visible. The model was created from 1,497 30 megapixel images.
