Alexandria Stem Assembly 3D Model
As part of the Alexandria, VA 18th Century Ship Project, we are laser scanning each individual timber in high-definition and creating 3D models, which we will use to reconstruct the ship.
This is the stem assembly, consisting of the stempost, the apron, and a portion of the keel. These three pieces were excavated intact, but were disassembled for conservation. Each disarticulated piece was scanned individually, and then virtually reassembled in the computer modeling programRhinoceros 5.
