Alice and Gwendoline Cave3D Model
Model of Alice and Gwendoline Cave in Co. Clare, Ireland. The cave system has been subject by historic, antiquarian and modern, archaeological / palaeoecological investigations, that produced a plethora of finds, including evidence of the earliest human activity found in Ireland. In 2019, Dr. Marion Dowd (ATU, Sligo, Ireland) and a team of experts conducted a detail investigation of the cave system in search of more evidence from the early use of the cave. As part of this investigation, Dr. Thorsten Kahlert (QUB) carried out a laser and photogrammetry scan of the cave. While the work was focused on the main passage where evidence of palaeolithic human activity was found, most of the cave system ended up being scanned.
