Alligator Angular 3D Model
The angular is a membranous element of the caudoventral mandible. Its caudal portion cradles the articular whereas its medial and lateral margins articulate with the surangular and dentary forming part of the intramandibular joint. The caudolateral surface has broad fossa where m. pterygoideus ventralis attaches. The inner surface of the angular has a smooth trough where Meckel’s cartilage passes, which is then surrounded by the mandibular fossa, where m. adductor mandibulae attaches. The medial portion of the element forms part of the caudal intermandibular foramen, which transmits neurovasculature.
