Amazon sarcophagus. The reliefs around the sarcophagus show an Amazonomachy. The Greeks are depicted in heroic nudity, wearing a short cape. The Amazons’ clothing, long pants with attached shoes, a belted long-sleeved chiton, a cloak and cap, and their equipment are Persian. The weapons used are short swords, double axes, throwing spears and crescent-shaped shields.
