Amida Nyorai (Amitabha Tathāgata) is the head of the Western Pure Land, and is the Buddha who guides people there after death. This statue is a solid cast made by lost wax casting and is not plated. It has been exposed to heat, and it has corroded due to being in the soil for many years, so its facial expression is not clear. The expressions of Kohai (a halo), Rahotsu (spiral hair), Daie (a large robe), and Mo (skirt) are recognized in it. It stands in the lotus pedestal with both hands making a mudra (hand sign).
