More model informationAmygdaloidal basalt from Vacaria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The fine grained basalt has abundant, rounded vesicles where gas bubbles formed during eruption and solidification. The vesicles have been partially infilled by celadonite (green) and quartz (white). This sample is part of the teaching collection at Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter.
