More model informationNo coastal town is complete without a good anchor monument, and Torquay is no excption!
This is an anchor from the Joseph H Scammell. A Canadian sail ship, it wrecked at Point Danger in Torquay in 1891 after a journey from New York. No lives were lost but over 2000 people came to loot the valuable cargo from the wreck.
The anchor was recovered in 1971 by the Geelong Skindiver’s Club.
