More model informationThis toy skillet, measuring 2-1/2 inches across (excluding the handle) was made by Anchor Stoves & Ranges. Anchor labeled their cast iron products as being from New Albany, IN, from Louisville, KY, or sometimes even being from both. But to my knowledge, the foundry itself was located in New Albany. Stratton and Terstegge was a hardware store in Louisville, KY.
The age of this toy skillet is unknown, but it was most likely made some time between 1900-1950.
The most common use of these toy skillets was as spoon rests or as ashtrays. They were given to customers as promotional items.
