More model informationGolden Larnax of Vergina
The Golden Larnax is a 4th-century BC closed coffin discovered in the Macedonian Royal tombs at Vergina in Greece. It has been proposed that it contained the remains of King Philip II of Macedon. Phillip II was the warrior and diplomat who ruled the Ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia from 359 BC until his assassination in 336 BC. He was not only the father of Alexander the Great, but in many respects was also the father of his son’s incredible career. It was the father who unified Macedonia into the first European nation and who created the army with which his son conquered the Persian Empire and inaugurated the Hellenistic Age.
